The Indian Journal of Musculoskeletal Radiology (IJMSR) is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal committed to publishing high-quality articles in the field of Musculoskeletal Radiology. The journal is owned by the Musculoskeletal Society (MSS) and published by the Scientific Scholar.
This official publication of the Musculoskeletal Society (MSS) aims at publishing original articles, review articles, pictorial essays, case series and case reports of interesting and rare diseases/ occurrences/ signs pertaining to musculoskeletal imaging. It encompasses a multimodality approach to imaging of musculoskeletal disorders as also various image-guided interventions and pain relief procedures en-vogue in management of these cases. In this regard, the publication also invites letters to the editor and commentary on newer innovations in imaging techniques and guided interventions in the field.
Our audience largely includes radiologists with subspecialty interest but also the orthopaedic surgeons, rheumatologists and sports medicine experts.
IJMSR has a highly rigorous peer-review process that makes sure that manuscripts are scientifically accurate, relevant, novel and important. Authors disclose all conflicts, affiliations and financial associations such that the published content is not biased.
Our editorial board comprises a panel of national and international experts in the field of Musculoskeletal Radiology and related interventions. A highly skilled team of members from Musculoskeletal Society (MSS) is deeply committed to providing their expertise and guidance to quality research work and publication in the field.

Dr. (Col) R S Negi is an experienced MSK Radiologist with a demonstrated history of working in the health, wellness and fitness industry. He is skilled in all aspects of Musculoskeletal radiology including MRI, CT, Ultrasound, Conventional Radiology, and MSK related interventions. He has an academic career and a vast experience in Medical Education and Clinical research. He is a strong consulting professional who graduated from the prestigious Armed Forces Medical College at Pune. He has worked as an Associate Editor of the Indian Journal of Radiology and Imaging (IJRI). He is currently also the editorial board member of IJRI and Journal of Marine Medicine (JMM).
It is a peer-reviewed international journal with a double-blind review process. Its frequency of publication is Semiannual. Currently, it is being launched as an e-journal.
The journal is an official publication of Musculoskeletal Society (MSS) and promotes quality research and publication in the field. There are no charges for publication levied on the contributors. It is an open-access journal which therefore has wider viewership around the globe. The author also gets to retain copyright to the article and the figures. This allows authors to extend their exposure in the world of medical research and get worldwide recognition for their work.
The Indian Journal of Musculoskeletal Radiology is committed to meeting and upholding the standards of ethical behavior at all stages of the publication process. We follow closely the industry associations, such as the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and World Association of Medical Editors (WAME), that set standards and provide guidelines for best practices in order to meet these requirements. We have plagiarism check available on our Editors and Reviewer’s panel in the manuscript management system. We encourage our editors and reviewers to use the plagiarism check. Any manuscript with plagiarism will be rejected immediately.
This is an open-access journal, and articles are distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-Non Commercial-Share Alike 4.0 License, which allows others to remix, tweak, and build upon the work non-commercially, as long as appropriate credit is given and the new creations are licensed under the identical terms.
Articles published online under the Ahead of Print model are considered published and can be cited and quoted using the DOI as the reference source. Indian Journal of Musculoskeletal Radiology has a policy that changes will not be made after publication of an article without following accepted procedures for making corrections to the scientific record.
