New Beginnings – Dawn of a New Era in Indian Radiology

Welcome aboard the maiden voyage of Indian Journal of Musculoskeletal Radiology (IJMSR), official publication of the Musculoskeletal Society (MSS). There has been a much-awaited need for a subspecialty journal in musculoskeletal radiology in the country, and in this regard, this journal is not only the first musculoskeletal imaging journal but also one of the only two subspecialty radiology journals launched in India. I feel privileged and honored to be a part of this academic endeavor which is unique in pushing forward the subspecialty concept in radiology training and practice - the dawn of a new era!

Musculoskeletal radiology through its humble beginnings and sustained efforts of the MSS has come of age in India. Multitude of conferences and training workshops organized by the society along with professionally active social media group discussing challenging cases online with the colleagues are a testimony to the changing times. Egged on by the senior colleagues, we now have an enthused crowd of young professionals who are willing to undertake this subspecialty as a career.

This publication will foster new ideas and research, share valued experiences of the seniors and above all give a wide coverage and uniform platform to everyone across the globe to enhance and share their knowledge on this open-access database. Through the MSS, we have an excellent set of professionals serving the editorial and reviewer board of the journal ensuring excellence in all spheres of medical publication. Beyond doubt, the authors, scholarly work and research will be scrutinized by experts in our field checking the validity and evaluating suitability for publication.
